– Peter Mares (author of Not Quite Australian: how temporary migration is changing the nation and contributor editor, Inside Story magazine) – Impact of 457 visa changes on temporary migrant workers in Australia
– Gabrielle Marchetti (Principal Lawyer, JobWatch Inc) – The role of JobWatch: most common issues regarding migrant workers on working holiday visa and student visa. How to protect workers’ rights in case of exploitation. Questions throughout the presentation.
– Luke Ryan (Senior Fair Work Inspector) – from the Fair Work Ombudsman will present information on the Harvest Trail and give tips for backpackers and seasonal workers to have a better understanding of their workplace rights and obligations while working in the farming and horticulture sectors.
– Marco Maria Cerbo (Italian General Consul, Melbourne) – Overview of major policies in terms of temporary and migrant workers
